Thoughts on The Events of This Week

This week seemed to fly by.

I did get my car back yesterday morning-thankful for that as I have a couple errands and food shopping to do. Through most of next week  the Lake of the Ozarks hosts a huge bike fest-so there will be lots of bikes on the road. Should not see a lot of them in my area but I did see several yesterday when I picked up my car.

I won't get political but this recent assassination was horrific. I am old enough to have lived through several of these beginning with both of the Kennedy's  I cried for days over President Kennedy I just could not wrap my head around that.  I cried over this one as well-such a shock to me, and the hateful comments by many were so shameful and also so un-American. I am glad a few of them got fired. (in the media)

Our country was formed with God at the helm-this has mostly been lost in recent years.

Our country needs to come together-debate over issues, work together for the good of our country. The mainstream media has added to the decline of Love of Country with their untruths.

Where is our American Spirit??   My family before me would be appalled by what is going on.

This is not the same country I was born into at all.

My opinion also is cell phones should be limited for children until they graduate from high school.  Have you seen the recent education scores? our school children do not know how to read or write!  unacceptable.

Just my thoughts that I needed to write down.

  1. I was heartbroken and cried when I found out live on tv. I agree there should be debate without violence. Our forefathers would be so ashamed at our country right now. The governor of Utah said it best when he said if you are happy about this, then you need to look in the mirror and see the angel who is looking back at you. Janice

  2. I agree about coming together, Kathy. Not necessarily politically but with empathy. I'm stunned by the hypocrisy I've seen over the past few days with the name calling when none of this was so blatant after the assassination of a Minnesota representative, the attack on Paul Pilosi or many judges. It is absolutely wrong -- in any case -- for political terrorism and unfortunately, it is nothing new. Civility in civic discussion is so sorely needed. (And I agree completely about phones, especially in school.) It was a sad day and any day when three children are gunned down by a peer and another killed for his beliefs. We have to do better.

  3. Agreed...It is most definitely not the world we were born into! It seems like things are ramping up, more and more. Lining up with Bible prophesy faster than my mind can comprehend. I feel certain that more attacks are coming against, not only Christians, but all who stand against evil. It's coming...but we can't fear it. We are to stand firm in our faith, love our enemies, and forgive and pray for those who are in the clutches of something far more sinister than we can imagine.

    Grace & Peace,
    Pam
