I decided to delete my last blog and go back to my Hummingbird blog.
We have always lived so rural since retirement (2003) that we never had any family-what little we do have-close by, and has been difficult over these years finding real friends in real life. The ones you can depend on. That's what got me into social media to begin with to share my interests with like minded friends and to have someone to communicate with.
Now though, as I watch what is going on, I will be transitioning more and more away from social media.
Facebook-censors content continuously, I am not on Twitter they do the same. You Tube is owned by Google they are censoring content as well, or like fb taking it down So far I have not seen censoring of our blog posts here. What ever happened to free speech??
I no longer watch any news at all on the television-it's come down to control of the people slowly over time-feeding us untruths, twisting what is the truth-brainwashing. You don't know it's happening until you step away from it for a week or so and start browsing online looking for what is going on-Wow I was shocked when I discovered this.
Enough of all that, I just wanted to pop in real quick to let you know when I do post again I will be back here
Happy Saturday everyone
Thanks for letting me know about the new Blog. Have a great weekend, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteyw you as well
DeleteThanks for letting us know, Kathy. We all must adjust our priorities sometimes. It’s important to know we are making our best use of time in this life as well as for bringing us peace of mind. Take it slowly, you will get there.
ReplyDeleteI tried to access your other blog and I'm glad you told me you are back here. It's a good thing I am unable to delete anything on my sidebar, so that's why it was still here today. Welcome back.
ReplyDeleteI haven't been able to get my blog list to update either-sigh
DeleteWelcome Back!
ReplyDeleteIt is easier to keep up with your posts when they appear on my Reading List. I visit Instagram for the pretty pictures.
great-hugs
DeleteHappy Saturday!
ReplyDeleteI am glad I did not delete this blog from my sidebar, Kathy. Glad to see you back here. As for the tv, the same happens to the whole world, my friend. Kisses!
ReplyDeleteglad you found me Mia-hugs
DeleteHello Kathy,Admittedly I was a little surprised this morning when I went to your new blog on my blog roll (I find the blog roll much more direct and easier to keep up with your posts than checking the reading list) to see if there was an update...as I do. It would be great if you could put me back on your blog roll here. I have checked and I cannot see Crafty in the Med there. I want to continue to follow you of course as I have been doing so for quite sometime and enjoy doing so. I shall upload you again to my blog roll too now. keep well Amanda x
ReplyDeleteStill can't delete or upload on the blog list widget. I have sent feedback to blogger but I am not confident I will get a reply!! A x
DeleteHi Amanda, yes frustrating to get things fixed here.
DeleteI did discover in settings towards the end of the list is a readers list-I had not seen that before. and it puts the newest posts first-so I will use that-I may just delete the list on my blog
Good point about so far they haven't censored our blog posts. But probably behind the scenes, they don't allow blog posts to appear in a search, if "they" "don't like" the content of that blog post. You're allowed to have Free Speech as long as it agrees with the mob rule's opinion. It's unfortunate most Americans are so polarized that they can't see beyond that. And it's also unfortunate that most Americans blindly believe whatever the media tells them, without even taking a step back and analyzing it with even a minimal amount of logical thinking. There is one particular news story I'm thinking of, that has nothing to do with Biden and Trump, that most Americans just bobbed their heads up and down in agreement, without realizing how ludicrously unbelievable the news story was.
ReplyDeletethank you soooo much Anne for commenting-and it's amazing when we discuss something with a friend they quote back the "fake news" something needs to be done about the false media-because they are no longer a source of facts and information but only their one agendas
DeleteI did a double take when I saw you in my side bar at your old blog and wondered what 'New' blogger was up to now! We hardly ever watch the news here. We have a magazine type programme on at Breakfast time that fills us in with headlines and clips. During Covid times we have had government press conferences televised and we always try to watch live as when they are shown on the news they are edited to show what the TV news wants to 'highlight/criticise, and comes with a whole load of opinions and analysis from others that twist the original message.
ReplyDeleteI don't even believe a lot of the on line stuff either unless I know the source.
I have kept blogger going as I like to have a place to 'meet' others and know that all of my family can access it if they wish to see what we have been up to.
I do have an instagram account as it is the best way I can keep touch with some of my friends that don't blog, as well as it being another way to share my Crafty Individuals projects.
I have never been on Facebook - hubby used to have a lot of trouble with his young people at school and he really doesn't want me to. It hasn't really bothered me although I know I miss out on some workshops.
I do hope you will still be sharing your photos and artwork!
Enjoy what's left of the weekend, hugs, Chrisx
Welcome back, Kathy. I agree with you about social media sites and news media.
ReplyDeleteIt's bizarre how the word "journalism" has been redefined. In the list of distrusted professions, I think they've moved to the #2 spot, right behind politicians. (see https://www.lovemoney.com/news/5347/the-10-most-distrusted-professions).
Hugs, Eileen
