Happy December

Welcome in December,
Thought  I would drop in and say hello--Have not been real active with my two blogs here lately.
Nothing new happening to write about-lol  However I did get out my adult coloring book Yellowstone Color it Wild that I bought this past summer-along with gel pencils and watercolor pencils--I am really not good with these detailed coloring books, and I loved this book so much that I thought I would not "ruin" it by coloring-but I changed my mind this week and giving it a go-kinda fun as a relaxing tool-which I love my spinning for too.
I picked up my little spot on the floor for spinning as I finished up with the blending of odd wools I was working up and wanted to get that off the floor and get back to weaving really soon.  I really do miss the spinning though.
Back to coloring books-do you enjoy these-do you feel intimidated by the complexity of them or is it just me that thinks some of these adult coloring pages are a bit overwhelming.

Enjoy the upcoming Holidays and all the festivities!

  1. I have heard so many positive things about adult coloring books. I didn't know what they were at first, but then I started seeing them in stores. I don't know why, and maybe I'm really missing something, but I haven't been drawn to them. I picked one up in AC Moore and flipped quickly through the pages, but then put it back and proceeded to the yarn aisles. :)

  2. Coloring is supposed to be relaxing, not overwhelming. Nothing needs to be perfect. Just go with it and have fun. I've not been so crafty lately. Mostly being a bit lazy at the moment. I'm going with that feeling for now as I know it won't last forever.

  3. Hi Kathy!!!

Alot of those books do seem super super detailed... I think the artists challenge themselves on who can make the most detailed one... I don't think it has to be super detailed to be fun to color... I think as adults we just want an adult theme and not cartoons... However i have resisted buying the books for one reason only... Because i like to draw my own coloring pages...lol And i know if i purchase one of these books i will color in that instead of practicing my drawing.. But i like coloring and my daughter does too... Don't let all the detail overwhelm you Kathy.. breathe and just have fun! Hugs! deb

  4. I know what you mean about the colouring books, I have some and they are so very detailed and I feel badly if I slip over the lines! I am trying to be more relaxed about it now, and I hope that you can be too and we can just enjoy the activity without worrying about perfection! Happy colouring!
