Fall Postcards

Good morning Wednesday, after yesterday's rain we have a lovely cool down today. It's in the mid 70's f my favorite temperature for sure.

This had me thinking about Fall, so yesterday I grabbed my address book and blank postcards-and started addressing them, and having fun with stamping on the back. I am thinking that the protective sleeves I used last time for mailing may have slowed down the delivery. Yesterday I remembered I had a tiny jar of micro glaze that a calligrapher I follow uses to protect her envelopes that she address. It will also protect the art work on the back of the card and also protects my  black walnut ink that I write with as well.

Here is a photo, I just bought another jar on Amazon. It doesn't take much-just a little and rub all over, and then I take a flannel cloth and rub all over it again.

If any of my readers would be inspired to swap handmade postcards, just drop me a note with your address in my contact form which is towards the  bottom of my right column here on my page. I am mailing now but will make postcards through the end of September

This year I am more ready than ever for autumn-are you too??

  2. It was supposed to rain yesterday, instead it got all very hot and sunny. It's so dry everywhere this year. The water level of Rhine has reached a new low and all the ships are stopped...I have only seen the police ship there and lots of seagulls.

Bet you are glad not everyone gets what wanted but Mother Nature takes care of it (and we should take care of her!!!!)

Your surprise arrived - just pop over - thank you so much - you made my day and... speaking of Mother Nature... the only butterfly I saw this year. Hugs!

    1. I wouldn't like summer forever, as I do really enjoy all of the seasons but sounds like you haven't been getting a nice warm summer for awhile now-so that can be depressing. Our mail back and forth is moving pretty fast again-loving that. Hugs

    1. I agree, I like to send the postcards and letters out when I am inspired too. I wrote out a stack of addresses from my address book and figured I would throw it out there if anyone is interested-I usually get no one interested-but that's ok
I soooo hope you get rain hugs

  10. We finally had some rain and some cooler weather yesterday, but the sun is back today and it will be warming up a bit. That microglaze sounds interesting. It must form a protective covering? Happy start to your weekend Kathy. hugs-Erika
